Coach Maness is entering his fourth year as Head Coach at Richland Northeast High School. During that time RNE has compiled an overall record of (48-28) finishing second place in the region twice and tied for the region lead once. The Cavs have reached the AAAA State Playoffs in each of the last three years. During that time Richland Northeast has sent 7 players to the collegiate ranks including four Division I signees. Several Northeast players have been selected All-State or have been invited to play in the NC/Select game or North/South All-Star Game. The latest was David Greene, a Citadel signee, who played in the 2008 North/South All Star Game.
Prior to arriving at Richland Northeast, Coach Maness served as Head Coach of Camden Military Academy in Camden, SC. During that time the Spartans compiled a record of (71-52), winning one CAA Conference championship. During that time five Spartan players went on to play in college. Coach Maness also served as an assistant at Camden Military form 1999-2000.
Richland Northeast Baseball prides itself on playing fundamental baseball centered around playing great defense, throwing strikes and executing offensively. Cavalier players work very hard in the weight room year round, and pride themselves on working as hard as possible everyday in season and out.
